"I'm they type of person who wants to put my heart into it. I want to know more about you, and I want you to know more about me. It's not just a trip to come down and get your fingers all banged up with hammers, and get mosquito bites and chiggers and all that stuff. It's all about pouring your heart out with what you're doing, and caring about it."
Born in February, 1964, Ben Williams was raised by his grandmother, who had 18 children. Although his family lived in poverty, he did not notice since his family always got by, finding food in some way, whether that may have been asking neighbors, or cooking meals from wild plants outside in the woods. Growing up in this way shaped Ben into the resourceful man that he is today. Although he entered school later, at the age of 9, he was past the designated curriculum due to his visits prior to being formally enrolled, and later went to college with a scholarship at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln Nebraska. He found his passion in Habitat for Humanity and devoted his full time and attention to it and is now the Construction Supervisor.
