Diann Moore
"Jim is the brainS of the operation. Wes is the backbone of the farm, And I am the mouth of the farm. So, we’ve made one body out of three of us, and we make the farm function."
The one-hundred-acre Moore Family Farm in Watseka has been in the family for over a century. In the mid-1980’s, Diann and her husband Jim began relying on less conventional methods. Today, they use neither pesticides nor synthetic fertilizers in the cultivation of their farm. Moore sells animal products, like beef, lamb, pork, chicken, and eggs, as well as seasonal fruits and vegetables. These products can be found at the Common Ground Food Co-Op in Urbana, and the Big Grove Tavern in Champaign.
