Jason Shelby
"When working with spring and habitat, we see all the small victories and the positive things happening, but it's hard not to be overwhelmed by all the negative things that are happening. It's hard not to be overwhelmed by the state that people are living in."
Jason Shelby was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana on March 1st, 1977. He grew up in a small town a few miles away from Fort Wayne, a town he describes as a “farming community.” Jason moved to Louisiana and worked as a middle school Chaplain. He then moved to Jackson, Mississippi to serve at a church. Jason moved to Clarksdale, Mississippi in 2010 during July. He decided to come because after visiting, he realized it would be a great place to explore to work on racial reconciliation and work with those in poverty. He now works as a priest there and is active in Spring Initiative for which his parish provides money, supplies, and space.
